There are a lot of homosexuals …

There are a lot of homosexuals that are active in the church—is being gay a sin?

As a person raised in a Pentecostal Church I was taught for
years (17 years) that homosexuality was a sin. However,
there were several pastors that simply repeated scriptures
    that supported their beliefs.

After studing the scripture as an adult I recognized that
there were no actual, specific direct scriptures that
EVER MENTIONED HOMOSEXUALITY IN THE BIBLE.

So, I’ve committed myself to studing more scripture and
not just listening to pastors. More importantly I’ve
learned to accept people/ pastors where they are and
be responsible for my own spirituality.

    Headed to church now,

    peace out,

    V

    Is being straight a sin?
We are all born into a world of sin so the fact that we are inhabitants of the earth makes us sinful. Our sexual orientation is not an act of sin. The act of fornication is a sin and because homosexual marriage is not legal, maybe that’s a technical form of sin.
That’s only because the world is unwilling to accept homosexual marriage eventhough long term relationships do exist within our community.
Cut and dry do I believe that homosexuality is a sin? NO!

My father is a pastor and I was raised in a Penacostal church. As a child I was taught the same thing that it was a sin. I have not came across anything to justify that. Are we wrong for who we love.

    All unrighteousness is sin…

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Gen 1:27. Meaning -in his nature, not that of his body, for God has not a body, but that of his soul. The soul is a spirit, an intelligent, immortal spirit, an active spirit, herein resembling God, the Father of spirits, and the soul of the world. And chiefly in his purity and rectitude God’s image upon man consists in knowledge, righteousness, and true holiness, He was upright.

Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. I Cor 11:9

To those that claim that they search the scriptures and there is no mention of homosexuality did not read the story of Sodom and Gomorrah in Gen 19 why it was destroyed. Of course it did not use the word “homosexual” but if you read the NIV it will convert the Hebrew words to English for a precise clarification. So Christ has instructed relationship between a man and woman in I Cor. 7 breaks down the love of male and female to each other not male to male or female to female…also in Eph 5:22-33. We are looking for justification why we desire to be with the same sex and there isn’t any. I myself love woman but its wrong and God can put the right desire in me and you if you want Him to this is a choice we choose to live this way. Because God give us free will doesn’t make it right.

I was born & raised into the PAW=Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. and I witness alot of GAy, Lesbian, Transgendered people in the pulpit, choirs, ushering…And yes, my pastor would always preach the sermon about Adam & Eve, not Adam & Steve. I was like that is wrong. And one of my grandmother’s is a minister. now if she can love me knowing how I choose to live my life, why is it necessary these pastors much preach about this when so much is going on the world…How about preaching a sermon about how Bush asked thhe Black church to support his azz! Preach about these gas prices, food prices…So, NO! Being a homosexual is not a sin….there was homosexuality going on back in the bibilical days.

Well, if homosexualit is a sin, what is shacking up…and not being married? We all are born into a world a sin…that is why the saying goes when a baby is born your suppose to cry. Because, the baby is born into a world of sin…and when someone dies your suppose to rejoice…so, nobody can judge me…we all will meet Jesus and then be judge…oh, please don’t get me started…I can quote scripture by scripture..Yeah, in the bible there is the whole Sodom & Gomorrah…if you out here screwing every Tom, Dyck & Sue is that sinning? thn why notbe labeled as the Whore…like they speak of in the bible…IF Jesus cann forgive MAry (the Whore) why can’t he forgive us HOMOSEXUAL’s?

    Well
I am a daughter of both parents who are ministers. I do believe that homosexuality is a sin. However I do believe that God created all of us for his divine purpose. That also includes us. We don’t know what plan God has for us. It may be that we are in this situation now to help someone else who may not listen to us otherwaise because then, they would feel like “they can’t relate to me, they have never walked in my shoes”. Like my dad (the pastor) said when I did come out to him. “God is the only one that you have to give into account to. So it is not for me to judge you. Just respect others and respect yourself”. I don’t try to translate the scripturs to make what I do right….that is anything (lying, having material things as idols, fornication, etc) So it is what it is. It is all in you knowing that everyone has a divine purpose.

Scandalous you of all people should know better you coming out of PAW and so am I. Butterfly do understand what I’m saying I’m not knocking anyone for what they do but becaue I believe God’s word its wrong even tho I choose to do what I do. And again ALL UNRIGHTOUSNESS IS SIN whether its stealing, killing, heterosexuality (sex) or homosexuality it doesnt matter who do it and how you do it it’s wrong in the sight of God. And no one said that he won’t forgive you because He will but you have to want to come out of it, but of course the choice is yours if you choose to continue in sin. Homosexuality is no different from no other sin, sin is sin and bottom line God will forgive you no matter what.

True there is no scripture reference for Homosexuality.
If Jesus wanted us to call homosexuality a sin, then
Jesus and the writers; Matt, Mark, Luke and John it would
    have been ommitted.

Jesus did make it clear that the greatest commandment
was to “WHAT”? What did Jesus say? answer that question
and you will know the answer.

The old testiment are LAWS. If you were an attorney
then you could cut and paste most of the scriptures
to legal documents. Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed b/c GOD
had commanded the decendents to multiply. When men don’t multiply
weather by “speewing out there seaman” or “lying w/ a man” A COMMON PRACTICE. Then they will not multiply .

If we want to obey each scripture literal then we
should not mix linen w/ cotton/ work on sunday, etc.

Lastly, remember there are things that we don’t know
or understand. But we do know that we are commanded to
Love, take care the poor less fortune, and not kill.
Which begs the question, what was the thorn in Pauls’
flesh, why was King Saul and David so close? Why doesn’t
God say plainly DO NOT HAVE HOMOSEXUAL RELATIONSHIPS,

Just b/c preachers preach their interpretation, does
not PROVE a scripture’s validity. Just b/c we grew up
w/ part information doesn’t we have to be bound by
our past and lack of knowledge w/o questioning it.

DO WHAT YOU KONW IS RIGH; THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT IS TO LOVE.

Honestly, there’s no where in the Bible, and specifically from Jesus, where he says it’s wrong for me to love & be with another woman. Alot of people point to certain scriptures & stories to support what they believe…their interpretations, but that’s all it is. An interpretation.

God was so clear about alot of things (mainly on things you shouldn’t do), and for Him to not be clear about this makes me look at all the nay-sayers sideways. Maybe those who think it’s a sin are interpretating incorrectly. It makes me want to learn hebrew and latin and dig deeper for myself because honestly, I don’t trust english translations. I think it was Winnie who said to read the NIV because “it will convert the Hebrew words to English for a precise clarification.” However, some Christian scholars feel NIV was a loose translation that provided poor word-for-word translation style. Anyway, I encourage everybody to dig for the truth, follow God, and their hearts.

Oh, and no, its not a sin to be gay.

When everyone understands that it is not the type of person you are that makes you a sinner, it is what you do and how you do it. Not all of us are born leaders. I live is a world where it seems like right is wrong and wrong is right. People are treated like shit. Things are going to continue to go wrong for us until we learn how to treat each other. The greatest commandment is LOVE. Why wonder? I know that JESUS will be very upset today if he went into a church and was treated like shit, after all he did for us. We don’t know when he’s coming back. He might just be walking among us now, testing us. I think so. How can you call yourself a Christian and not follow everything that JESUS told you to. Jesus said: DO NOT WORSHIP ME, BUT THE FATHER. Yet we sing songs worshipping JESUS. Yes GOD is in all of us. Just like he was in JESUS CHRIST, but we all have different jobs to do. That is a another reason why there is no reason to act out of Jealousy. Ours footsteps are ordered. Everybody can not do the same thing. This world would not progress if everybody’s Job was the same. Pastors judging and teaching wrong. Judge not lest ye be judged. The Bible says that GOD will have no mercy on us when the time comes. He gave his begotten son to die horribly for our sins. Yet we still can’t seem to get it right. GOD wants his people back.

    Hell yeah it’s a sin… but what’s not a sin…
We need to evaluate what “sin” is…
Who determents what sins are? And isn’t everyone a work in progress…
    It’s a sin to judge… and if you call something a sin… isn’t that judging it…
I mean… who really knows what “God” is thinking…
I believe she’s cool with love “PERIOD”… woman loving woman, or man loving man… or woman loving man…
    I think if love is involved… it’s a good sin… AND
    If it’s just you being Nasty… then it’s a bad sin…
    But a sin is a sin… it’s all a sin…
And if memory serves me… isn’t the sin in the thought and then the act…
Well folks… We are all dammed… we are all sinners…
So, from one sinner to another… Be okay with your choices and own your shit and don’t worry about the next mans…
    It aint easy being sexy…

There are things that are sinul in the sight of GOD,and he has been very specific in his word. I have also searched the Bible looking for a scripture that would verify the very question asked today. I didn’t find it.The scripture’s Winnie talks about aren’t clear. The NIV is mans interpretation of the Bible.
I don’t remember hearing my pastor preach about homosexuality. But, when it’s dicussed, the answer is: Not pleasing to GOD! The church will say it’s a sin.
I love woman, and I have never felt convicted.I don’t know why I love woman but GOD knows.Things I don’t understand, I pray to GOD to make it clear to me. GOD knows my heart.Being Gay is not a sin, but not believing is the biggest trick of the enemy. I think if you believe and have faith in GOD he will take care of you(all things).GOD is the center of my life, and as long as I don’t put anything or anyone before him he will lead me to the right place. It doesn’t matter what the church says or people, only GOD’S opinion matters. If being gay isn’t what you want to be, believe that GOD can change your heart. He can do anything!
