Pride is a time for all GLBT to celebrate the fight they had to put up whether it was with family, work, or friends…a time to come out and enjoy one self amongst others like them. But, Blk. Pride this yr. was a rip off…I don’t know who some of these folks think they are fooling. I am tired of going to NYC, B-More, ATL and there Prides just blow DC of the map. Why is it that Capitol Pride has better functions then Blk. Pride. Blk. folks are just getting on the committe for the money. What happen to the Pride Passes? Put some funds together and les get back hung jury, jenny’s, track’s…

    Hello
Pride-Is about the love of self others, friends and family members. At pride we meet and exchange stories about our journey in coming out . I do not live for a party at pride.
I live for pride because I can come and be with the love of my life and don’t feel ashamed . I like the fact that I can speak to man and or women and they tell me their story about coming out today, yesteryear etc. Pride gives me hope for the future. Yes, the parties are great, but when all the partying is over what do you have? I thought Pride this year was fabulous.
I am reading a book call Does your Mommma Know, and Christianity and Homosexuality some seventh-day adventist perspectives. Both can be found through google and or Amazon .com.
Peace to you and yours. Mckennonlou

Pride doesn’t mean what it uses to mean to me anymore…
Our younger sisters and brothers coming out today, have no idea what the hold thing was about.
Now it’s just one big ass reason party…
I remember pride was a time sisters & brothers came from all over to celebrate with each state, to protest and speak on fair play,, the things we had in common, while standing up for courses others tried to deny us.
We had so many reasons to march for a common goal “Freedom and equality”.
Now, everything is considered the norm, from hate to love and we still party even though we are not free or equal…
The only thing that is really supported during “PRIDE” are the night clubs.
I have to really say, the black prides are the most disappointing of them all… We don’t come together for sh!t, not even for our futures…
Except for two celebrations that still have the right idea… two of the most supported events during pride in DC and the other in NYC. They know who they are…

But back at the ranch… all we want to do is drink and dance.
My girl and I attended DC’s, B’more’s and NYC’s Prides, and they all resembled… NOT A DAMMM THING CONSTRUCTIVE HAPPENING!
So pride doesn’t have anything to do with me being a lesbian anymore… it’s the human I’ve become that I take pride in.
Pride to me is my spirit and accomplishments..
